A fine line

Posted on

When I met my husband 20 years ago I imagined our ten year old niece growing up, getting married, and doing all of the lettering for her special day. I taught myself calligraphy when I was younger than she was when we first met. Twenty years passed in a blink of an eye – it’s a fine line between being a girl one second and a married lady the next. We celebrated that day this past September.
It was the loveliest warm end of summer evening from the moment she stepped onto the balcony to be given away by her parents until the last guest bid goodnight. Each meticulously planned detail made their day all about them. I was so pleased to give her hand lettered calligraphy as one of her gifts.

I think it’s a really lovely gift that should be long remembered! It’s only taken me thirty years to get a basic hang of calligraphy, but it’s worth it!
